ZenTemple uses Zendesk authentication to identify your workspace, prevent abuse of the free preview system, and enable one-click theme deployment later.
What ZenTemple accesses during sign up
When you sign in with Zendesk, ZenTemple only accesses basic account information required to identify your workspace and create your ZenTemple account, including:
- Your Zendesk user profile (name and email address)
- Your Zendesk subdomain (for example,
yourcompany.zendesk.com)
This information allows us to associate generated previews with your Zendesk workspace and provide deployment functionality later.
What ZenTemple does not access during sign up
During sign up, ZenTemple does not access:
- Tickets
- Ticket comments
- Customer conversations
- End-user information
- Help Center articles
- Help Center sections
- Help Center categories
- Attachments
ZenTemple does not import or analyze your support content when you create an account.
Why does ZenTemple request Zendesk access?
ZenTemple is built specifically for Zendesk Guide.
Using Zendesk authentication helps us:
- Prevent abuse of the free preview system
- Associate generated themes with a real Zendesk workspace
- Enable one-click deployment of generated themes
- Provide a smoother experience without requiring additional account setup
When does ZenTemple access Zendesk Guide resources?
ZenTemple accesses Zendesk Guide resources only when required for Zendesk-related actions that you initiate.
For example, when you choose to deploy a generated theme, ZenTemple may access Zendesk Guide APIs to:
- Retrieve available brands
- Import or update Guide themes
- Monitor deployment status
These actions occur only after you explicitly request them.
How is my data stored?
ZenTemple stores the information required to maintain your account and Zendesk connection, including OAuth credentials provided by Zendesk.
Credentials are stored securely and are used only to provide ZenTemple functionality.
Can I revoke ZenTemple's access?
Yes.
You can revoke ZenTemple's access at any time from your Zendesk account's connected applications or OAuth application settings.
After access is revoked, ZenTemple will no longer be able to perform Zendesk actions on your behalf until you reconnect your account.
Questions?
